Exclusive Interview with xKore

Hello everyone, we had the chance to interview xKore. If you are a fan of Dubstep/Drumstep you most likely already heard of him. Most of his tracks have landed in the tops on Beatport.
He just released an EP called "Stabs" on Inspected Records. xKore will be touring with Datsik for his Firepower tour. 

xKore Biography:

xKore (Real name: Matt Cavender) is a young but extremely talented house/trance/drum & bass producer from Kent in the UK.

In his own words: “My name is xKore and I make dubstep, drumstep, moombahton, electro, and basically all things bass music. I’ve been producing for around four years, started when I was 14 . Only really got into it seriously for about six to nine months now, and it has kind of taken off recently.”

      His first tracks were released on Newgrounds, and, with his unique style, he’s managed to gain a lot of support from the dubstep community, and has been featured on UKF. He’s also made guest appearances on Skream and Benga.

    Presently, xKore is both a composer and a DJ; he has mixed his own music with that of other artists, and has generally received favorable feedback from doing so.

A: Knife Party, Sub Focus, Redlight, Congorock and Bart B More at the moment, but it's always changing and I often take alot of inspiration off random tracks by random people.

 

Q: Did you first started producing music or Djing?

A: I started producing first and DJing became neccesary after popular demand, and it's quickly become my favourite aspect of being a producer.

Q: Where & what venue was your favorite performance?

A: I played Toulouse earlier this year alongside Captain Crunch, Engine Earz, Emalkay and the local DJs, it was around 1500 people and the first time I had played to so many people. Everything was good about the night, the venue had perfect sound and the crowd was awesome. Ended up crowd surfing a few too many times.

Q: What software do you use to produce your music? Do you have any extra equipments in your studio?

A: I use FL studio, mainly with Massive, Sylenth1, the Waves, SPL and Sonnox kits. I'm pretty much totally software based in my Desktop at home. I use Dre Beats Pro headphones aswell. They're pretty dope for production.

Q: Who is the one artist you would like to do a collaboration with?

A: Freddie Mercury

Q: We see that your latest EP has been getting a lot of great feedbacks, how did you get in contact with Inspected Records?

A: They picked me up after I got my track 'Hello' uploaded to UKF for free release. We worked on the EP for about 8 months all together.

Q: Do you have any advice for young people who want to start producing electronic music?

A: Produce for the sake of enjoying producing. If you go into the mindset of doing it just to be a super successful producer, you will find yourself getting impatient with how long it actually takes to get good.

Also, producing to a standard is only the first step, having your own vision is what is going to set you apart from being a normal small to mid size producer. 

Q: What can we expect from xKore for the rest of 2012?

A: We have some pretty big things lined up for the rest of the year. I'm doing the Firepower tour alongside Datsik, Terravita and Getter on the West coast of the US, then an Australian tour at the end of the year. Both of which are in perfect time to build up to my next EP release which we are hoping is going to take me to the next level, forthcoming around November/December.

Adam Blandino (AKA ItsNotAdam), the 22 year old producer from Miami, Florida gives us this uplifting gem of a song straight from the progressive house gods. His says his main musical influence came when he heard the song "Strobe" by Deadmau5, and the quality and atmospheric trippy-ness of "Acceptance" certainly proves it. Madeon - The City [Now Available]

Madeon decides to drop his new single “The City” that he has been teasing with a release in the US for that past few days. It was premiered this past weekend by Annie Mac on BBC Radio One after an official preview a few days before. He is fresh on the heels of his 18th birthday and his massively successful single “Finale” that may be his best effort to date. “The City” brings us back to his french disco roots, where “Finale” had a bit of an edgeier sound with some elements of DNB. Zak Waters provides vocals on the song that Madeon has said is the favorite track he has done, which says something considering the quality in his discography with “Icarus” “Finale” and the plethora of quality remixes. While I do not think this is as good as “Icarus” or “Finale”, “The City” is still a very good track and we can only expect more great things from this young prodigy. Alesso & Dirty South - City of Dreams [Brand New]

It has not been a bad few years for Alesso. The Swede has embraced the support of fellow artists Swedish House Mafia, Avicii and Tiesto, justifying the elevated pedestal he has acquired following the growth of his reputation. The success of tracks such as Pressure, Calling and Years has propelled him to the forefront of a dance music pack seeking to perfect the anthemic house sound.

City of Dreams epitomises everything that Alesso is doing right. The guitar driven intro, graced with the vocals of Ruben Haze, creates the perfect build-up for a drop that would make any of the aforementioned producers jealous.  With the festival season coming to an end, the Stockholm DJ has made a convincing bid to ensure his track is the one left ringing in the ears of house music enthusiasts as the sun sets on Summer 2012.

Dada Life - Feel The Dada (Dyro Remix)

As they continue to gear up for what looks to play out as one of their biggest releases thus far, Swedish masters of the fuzz Dada Life unveil of a new remix of their next single a week ahead of it’s Monday release.

Still hot on the heels from his Wall Recordings debut alongside Ansol titled ‘Top Of The World‘, Amsterdam’s Jordy von Egmond, better known to the world as Dyro, is first to bat for the remix package. Replacing the original’s already acclaimed instrumental work with his characteristically grinding Electro House stylings, ‘Feed The Dada‘ receives a sturdy signature remix from one of Holland’s finest talents currently on offer.

Avicii "Superlove" Ft. Lenny Kravitz [Video Premiere]

Avicii's new video "Superlove" isn't your average dance party. We follow a bespectacled music fan as he happens upon a mysterious Walkman.

After popping in the cassette, our hero is compelled to pop and lock like it's before the financial crisis. Avicii's infectious track pumps along with the altered vocals of rock starLenny Kravitz.

But when the video's star gets a little too excited from dancing, he bangs his head and is catapulted into a neon brainscape. We travel down a corridor of ladies' legs, through the mouth of a tiger and into a smokey party of flamboyantly dressed ravers, ready to trip to the beat.
