Major Lazer and Flux Pavilion - Jah No Partial ("Mr. Marshall" Single)

What a grooving banger this single turned out to be.  The lyrics in "Ja No Partial" are simply hypnotizing. You can't help but sing the Jamaican lyrics that you kind of hear but it doesn't matter, because by the end of the song, you know them.  What a mash up between two of the best groups in the game, Major Lazer and Flux Pavilion! I herd this release live on Flux's Standing On A Hill US Tour. Ive been waiting for this day for sometime now. Here it is, ENJOY!

FREE DOWNLOAD: Bassnectar 45-minute "Freestyle" Mixtape

Bassnectar
If you are looking for something to get you over hump day, I have found it in the form of 45 minutes of slamming bass courtesy of Bassnectar. Yea you remember that guy, the one who made "Bass Head"? You've probably got a t-shirt that says just that. Anyway, he's back and in preparation for his "Freestyle" EP due out on October 16th, he has put together a mixtape that is choc full of unreleased original tracks and remixes. There is a little bit of everything going on, from Bassnectar's signature bass wobbles to trap and reggae. The only thing you won't find in this mixtape is a bad song.

Rednek - Wake Up (and others you should hear)

What to write about this dubstep producer from London, UK? With over 19 years of music production under his belt and successful tours with the likes of Nero, Mord Fustang, and Tommy Lee, Rednek has certainly found his place in the world of dubstep. With enormous success of his first video "How to Become a Dubstep Artist in One Month," he released his second official video "They Call Me (Rednek)," and received 200,000+ views in the first week! His remix of Skrillex's "Make It Bun Dem" is definitely a must-hear (included below). For a free download of "Wake Up," visit his SoundCloud page! Be sure to check out all his sounds on SoundCloud, follow him on Twitter, and like him on Facebook!

Doctor P - Animal Vegetable Mineral Part 1

Doctor P is one of my favorite artists of his and Flux Pavilion's music company of Circus Records.  His latest release includes Galaxies and Stars, Flying Spaghetti Monster, Keep on Dancing, and Bulletproof. More melodic baselines and screeching synths in this release as to be expected for the one and only. 2 tracks with vocals from Eva Simmons and Ce'cile.

Zomboy- Vancouver Beatdown and EP Preview

British Dubstep producer Zomboy put out a new banger off his upcoming EP through his Twitter earlier today. One of my personal favorite producers, his style is so unique and this track is nothing different. It is very upbeat, while maintaining its hard hits. He'll be touring around the U.S. this fall, so check him out if you get the chance! And as if the one song wasn't enough, he put out a trailer preview of the entire EP. Check the clips out below!

Madeon - Finale (Dillon Francis Remix)

Hello all! I'm Tony and I'm proud to be apart of this site. In my inaugural post I decided to go with a producer who is one of my favorites in the game today. This Madeon song was remixed my Dillon Francis himself.  Dillon continues to make huge strides in the world of EDM. This remix is no exception. A nice journey of a remix! Enjoy it on Soundcloud or buy on Beatport.

Roksonix- Get Live

British Dubstep duo Roksonix brings you badass track out now on Flux Pavilion and Doctor P's Circus records. This song hits hard!!! Like and Follow and purchase your copy now on Beatport!

Basto - BONNY (Original Mix)

If ever there was any doubt that the modern dance music scene was forgetting it's underground rave origins, Basto provides an emphatic reminder that filthy bass culture is alive and kicking like never before. Buoyed by the support of some of the world's most respected DJ's (David Guetta and Sander Van Doorn included), the Belgian continues his siege into the headphones of those who matter with his latest banger, BONNY.

Echoing his previous hit I Rave You, spun by everyone from Tiesto to Madeon this summer, BONNY erupts with a drop that is sure to send shockwaves through the genre. The build up, reminiscent of an electronic Irish folk dance, is a beautifully crafted juxtaposition to the relentlessly driven bass that ensues.

Basto's original fusion of classic trance build ups and energetic dubstep drops looks certain to challenge the established collective of top DJ's, ready to exploit any lethargy amongst those at the forefront of the current scene.

Emalkay - Bring It Down (Official Video)

Emalkay's "Bring It Down" is one of those end-of-the-night dub songs where you pick your partner for that walk home. Sexy vocals mixed with a calming melody are sure to help you bring something down (the house and/or partner included). The visuals for this song have some dark, post-apocalyptic undertones with quick subliminal flashes which make the song that much more bad ass. Hit that 'Follow' button here and the 'Like' button here

Free download available on his website.

SKisM- Red Heat

SKisM releases this banger off of the Never Say Die label. This comes off Division Pt 2 of his 4 part EP series. Buy this track on Beatport or listen on Souncloud! Also check out the official drum & bass TC remix, which is sure to get the crowds movin'!

Ninja Toji ft. Molly June - Turn Off The Lights

Indianapolis award-winning producer (iStandard Indianapolis 2012) Ninja Toji's newest release, "Turn Off The Lights," is sweet, sweet summertime dubstep. With a blend of guitar, vocals from Molly June, and a hint of hip hop, this song truly has something for everyone. Grab your friends, crack open some cold ones, and have the night of your life! Love it? Follow Ninja Toji on Twitter and 'Like' his Facebook page. His latest EP "Audio Assassination" can be downloaded for free on SoundCloud and Bandcamp! Also check out Molly June on Twitter!

Kill the Noise - Kill the Noise Pt. 1

Kill the Noise gives us a glimpse of what slaying zombies during the apocalypse would feel like in a bass-filled video game world in their new video for "Kill the Noise Part 1" from their EP "KILL KILL KILL." Want more Kill the Noise? Check out their Facebook and Twitter pages!

Carl Cox Interview (Talking about Dubstep)

Carl Cox has claimed that he was playing dubstep, “three years before anyone even called it dubstep.”
Cox made the claims in an interview with Time Out, going on to say, “I never got known for playing that style. I don’t mind the now generation being seen as the pioneers, but there had to be a Carl Cox opening the doors for these guys.”

Favourite TV theme tune to remix?

‘I wouldn’t mind having a crack a “Captain Scarlet”, one of the big arranged orchestral numbers.’

Piece of work you’re most proud of?

‘That I took something that was so mundane – playing other people’s records, basically – and came through all the snobbery about DJing to turn it into a serious cottage industry for me and the world. I’ve played to so many festivals and venues over the world – more than most high-profile bands. I stuck to what I believed in.’

And least proud of?

‘DJing took away so much of my early life – I had to move away from my family and friends when I was growing up to get to this point. I’m having to retrace those steps now.’

Weirdest story you’ve heard about yourself?

‘One where I was going out with Sade and made her pregnant. Of course, that wasn’t true, although it would have been nice! We could have been the Eurythmics of the modern era. Otherwise just the usual: I’m a millionaire, I’m skint…’

Worst thing a critic’s said about you?

‘Critics have been pretty good about me. They just don’t say anything about my performances because I just rock it – I’ve become boring. Carl Cox playing Glastonbury isn’t news, because they know I’m going to rock it. I do everything to the highest level. A lot of DJs want to do as little as possible for the most amount of money and get out of there.’

Is it hard not to get complacent?

‘Well, I will always push things forward – it’s not about being complacent. But sometimes it’s too far forward. I was playing dubstep three years before anyone even decided to call it dubstep, but I never got known for playing that style. I don’t mind the now generation being seen as the pioneers, but there had to be a Carl Cox pushing the doors open for these guys.’

You have an hour to kill in London – what do you do?

'I love the energy of Soho and Piccadilly, the lights, the slot machines, the cafes, the people-watching, the art. I’d just walk around and soak it up.’

Who would you interview on your own chat show?

‘Bette Midler. She’s led a turbulent life and got misrepresented. She’s a great singer-performer, she’s done theatre, movies… It intrigues me. I think she’d be straight and honest.’

Then you could collaborate.

‘[Laughs] Right – do our own Lulu and Take That thing. Our own version of “Relight My Fire”! Only it’d probably be better.’

Ever Google your name?

‘I have done, to see what other Carl Coxes are out there. There are quite a few: one sells RVs in Canada, one is a wedding photographer, and Carlo Cox is an amazing porn star…’
Carl Cox appears on ‘First Love’, which airs in February 2012 on Sky Arts 1.

Porter Robinson - Spitfire (Bonus Remixes) [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Team OWSLA coming in hot this morning with a little pre-holiday gift for everyone — a free, bonus remix package for two of the tracks on Porter Robinson’s Spitfire. I’ve been (im)patiently awaiting the release of Lazy Rich’s heavy, energetic remix of “Vandalism” for the past four months, so this was quite a pleasant surprise. Dirtyloud also takes on “Vandalism,” putting a dark and gritty spin on the track by folding in some ferocious synths. Finally, Bjorn Akesson’s unexpectedly pitch-perfect trance reboot of “Spitfire” is lush and haunting and might be the darkhorse best in show. The Swedish up-and-comer deftly builds off of Porter’s chord progressions to create an innovative and tightly-produced remix that sounds utterly fresh and ready for ASOT or TATW. Frankly, it reminds me a lot of “Je Envie De Toi,” which is high praise. Who knew that the glitchy, vaguely sinister “Spitfire” could lend itself so well to trance?
