Ellie Goulding has been tearing it up in the electronic music scene of late; her tracks "Anything Could Happen" and "Salt Skin" have received the remix treatment from Alex Metric and everyone literate in the dance music scene knows Bassnectar's huge "Lights" remix. She's back again, this time with her new dubstep-pop track "Figure 8", which is set to be released along with her new full-length album "Halcyon" on October 9th on iTunes (preorder it here). "Figure 8" is a pretty dark track that starts a little slow, but Ellie's smooth vocals carry the track through to the drop, where the undulating synths and violin complement her voice perfectly. Ellie Goulding has created a great niche for herself in the electronic-pop scene and I look forward to seeing what "Halcyon" will bring to it.
